Why Was Chuan Han Ji Founded?
Chuan (傳): Implies inheritance and carrying forward.
Han (翰): Refers to Mr. A’Han Gong, the founder of our three core principles.
Ji (记): Signifies remembrance, as well as a promise and persistence.
In the 1980s and 1990s, our parents began cultivating tea gardens. They cherished these tea gardens as if they were their own children – fearing dampness in spring, worrying about sun exposure in summer, considering dryness in autumn, and being concerned about frost in winter. To ensure the healthy growth of the tea trees, they actively explored many cultivation and planting methods.
Through unremitting efforts, they ultimately chose to promote and sell tea seedlings of “Hua Cha No. 1 and Hua Cha No. 2” (China’s finest tea tree varieties, namely Fuding Da Bai Cha and Fuding Da Hao Cha). Because they always adhered to the “original ecological farming method,” they greatly improved the survival rate of the tea seedlings, earning the respect and welcome of the market.
To ensure the continuation of our parents’ hard work, we chose to inherit – to inherit their care for the tea gardens, their commitment to quality, and their respect for the market. As the new generation of tea farmers, while inheriting, we also have new explorations and commitments. For example, in production, we always adhere to the “single-origin material method” for the selection of fresh tea leaves; and for tea making, we always adhere to the “sun-drying method.”
We grew up in the tea mountains. For us, white tea is not only a material foundation but also a spiritual pillar. Therefore, we deeply love the tea gardens that nurtured us. Although being a tea farmer is a hard profession (making a living), we deeply understand that only by dedicating ourselves wholeheartedly can we transform this into a career (benefiting all beings), achieving “establishing ourselves through tea, clarifying our aspirations through tea, and cultivating our character through tea.”
We are very fortunate to be able to establish “Chuan Han Ji” with the current favorable policies. Therefore, we will be as careful at the end as at the beginning, and live up to our mission: cultivate good tea mountains, produce good tea, so that you can drink trustworthy tea!
